On Parade by Jack Vettriano was published in 2009 as a signed limited edition print of 250 copies, plus 25 artist's proofs numbered in Roman numerals. The edition sold out very quickly and is now available on the secondary market.
The print is mounted and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. Printed on 350gsm Museum Etching paper.
The painting is distinctive for the use of a vintage military uniform, worn by the model to erotic effect with suspenders and stockings. The inspiration was a series of photographs taken by Vettriano in his London studio, using a Nokia phone. Two are shown here. The series of photographs were exhibited and sold at a charity fund-raising auction, organised by Nokia in aid of MENCAP and held at the Photographer's Gallery in London.
