Art for your soul
Throughout the year the gallery features an eclectic programme of solo and group exhibitions by recognised painters, sculptors and printmakers from the UK, Europe and USA. The gallery also holds occasional pop-up shows and attends both national and international art fairs. Many of our established artists are members of Royal Institutes, Federations and Societies. Floren Gallery also provides an opportunity for young, emerging, talented artists to show and promote their work. Within the collection is also a carefully selected and diverse portfolio of works from Modern British painters such as Mary Fedden, Ivon Hitchens and Winifred Nicholson.
The Gallery offers a bespoke consultancy service to individuals and interior decorators looking to buy fine art. We can introduce you to artists, movements and advise in detail on current critical and commercial trends. The art buying process is certainly something that should be enjoyed and not daunting in any way. Working with us will ensure that your experience is fun and exciting!
Floren are always happy to bring works to your home with no obligation and can leave these with you for 48 hours, so that you can enjoy the paintings or sculpture in-situ. We would also be pleased to advise on the positioning of artworks and can organise help with both the hanging and lighting of artworks if required. Please keep an eye on our website and subscribe to our email list for news of all forthcoming events and latest news.
The team at Floren hope to welcome you to the Gallery soon!
Art for Interiors
A Good Eye for Great Art
Art is often the inspiration behind the colour palette and design of an interior scheme, whether you're looking for a focal piece or need us to source visual arts as part of the interior design scheme.
The team at Floren has vast experience in the world of contemporary art. We can advise you on the sourcing and purchasing of artworks from Europe’s finest artists and galleries to ideally suit your taste, and the design and décor of your home.
Visual art can take many forms including: paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, glassware, rugs, objets and antiques. The founder of Floren Neil Sherring is a graduate of the Inchbald School of Design and winner of the ‘Design & Decoration Award’ at the Inchbald Annual Exhibition.
With so many different options available, Neil and his team will help bring clarity to the visual elements of your project. As part of our art consultancy, we can also offer you a full framing service and assist you with picture hanging systems too.
Featured Artists and Works
Jack Vettriano - A Catalogue Raisonne of Signed Limited Edition PrintsMany rare prints available for sale
Jack Vettriano is perhaps the most controversial and talked about living artist. Often called 'The People's Painter' by the British Press, Vettriano is a well known public figure and perhaps most people will have seen at least one of his paintings - The Singing Butler. This particular work at one time held the record for the highest price for any Scottish painting (£744,800) and the reproductions are the best-selling art prints in the UK.
Rejected by the art establishment with art critics sceptic in their opinion of Jack Vettriano's work, perhaps because he is entirely self-taught and did not attend art school, Vettriano has for the last 30 years been favoured by the public. The Guardian art critic, Jonathan Jones, wrote of Vettriano's work in 2004: "Vettriano is not even an artist. He just happens to be popular, with ordinary people" and described his work as "brainless". The Scottish art historian Duncan Macmillan called Vettriano's work “dim erotica” and Sandy Moffat, head of drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art, said: "He can’t paint, he just colours in." But for all that, Vettriano continues to be as popular as ever, his work is adored by millions and his collector base keeps growing.
