Marked Heart by Jack Vettriano was published in 2013 as a signed limited edition print of just 75 copies, with 7 artist's proofs and 5 studio proofs. Each copy is signed and numbered by Vettriano and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. This edition is now sold out from the publishers and we are fortunate to have these framed prints in stock.
Marked Heart is one of a series of self-portraits painted by Jack Vettriano during his 25 year career.
This particular image was inspired by a song by the indie band, Saint Jude's Infirmary, who came to the artist's attention after releasing a song entitled Goodbye, Jack Vettriano. He later collaborated with the band for the artwork and content of their second album, This has been the death of us, which features lyrics written by Ian Rankin and a spoken word track, Tacoma Radar, contributed by Vettriano himself.
