The Singing Butler is Jack Vettriano's most famous painting. It was published in 2013 as a limited print of just 250 copies, along with 40 artist's proofs. Each copy is signed and numbered by Vettriano and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. This edition sold out from the publishers many years ago and the prints occasionally become available on the secondary market.
The original oil painting of the Singing Butler (71x91cm) was painted in 1992. At Sotheby's Edinburgh auction in April 2004 it sold for £744,800, breaking the previous record for a Scottish painting. The Singing Butler has been reproduced in many different formats and it is the best selling art print in the UK. These limited editions are the most true representations and being signed and numbered are the most valuable.
