Types of Linings
We generally use fine silks to line our lampshades, with a myriad of colours available from the world's top silk suppliers. The type of silk used will depend on the desired effect and the thickness of the outer fabric. Habotai silks work well, as do crepe satins and Indian duppion. The colour of the lining will provides different types of ambient glow at night. Warmer neutrals and light golds give a warm ambient effect, ivories and pinks are also good choices.
Some clients prefer us to use a cotton or lightweight linen to line their lampshade. The possibilities are endless and we have previously used stripes, dots and even patterns.
