Edinburgh Festival 1991 Exhibition Catalogue
Published for the 1991 Edinburgh Festival, this rare 8-page catalogue documents “A Contrast of Styles,” a pivotal joint exhibition featuring Joan Renton and Jack Vettriano at the Solstice Gallery. Running from August 9th to August 31st, 1991, the exhibition was Vettriano's third appearance at the gallery. The catalogue beautifully illustrates the works on display, including early Vettriano compositions such as Discovered, Mad Dogs and..., and The Foolish Gallery. Serving as a prelude to his meteoric rise, this document offers a glimpse into the artist's career just ahead of his landmark May 1992 solo exhibition, “Tales of Love and Other Stories.”
