Reissue of a painting with a chinoiserie motif, printed on copper plate, at the Royal Oberkampf factory in Jouy-en-Josas, circa 1780. Very fashionable at the time, these Chinese scenes, pure emanations of European ornamentalists, perfectly illustrate the exotic trend then in fashion, evoking distant countries without any real concern for accuracy.
